March 17, 2010 - Underwater Gravity Meter

Scintrex introduces our new underwater gravity meter called INO.

Why INO; out of Greek Mythology, INO was once a mortal princess, a daughter of King Kadmos of Thebes. She and her husband Athamas incurred the wrath of Hera when they fostered an infant god. As punishment Hera drove Athamas into a murderous rage. Ino was forced to escape with her life by leaping off the side of a cliff into the sea.  She was welcomed by the marine gods and renamed Leukothea (the White Goddess). Scintrex’s INO takes our well known CG-5 Autograv and encases it in a bell and throws it off the side of a ship.

There are three models, the INO for maximum depths of 600 meters, the INO-3 for maximum depths of 3000 meters and the INO-5 for maximum depths of 5000 meters.

The INO is self-contained, easy to operate and gives microgal repeatability. The INO is designed to give microGal repeatability to provide more insight to way lays beneath the sea floor.
