Diamonds:

 In diamond exploration, there are several geophysical methods at the disposal of the explorationist. The gravity method using the CG-6 Autograv or CG-5 Autograv Gravity Meter is the most popular for the exploration of kimberlites, followed by the magnetic method, using the ENVI Pro Magnetometer and IP and Resistivity Imaging using the IPR-12 IP Receiver or the SARIS Resistivity Imaging System.

 

Precious Metals:

The IP method, using the IPR-12 IP Receiver has been proven to be the best method for the exploration of precious metals. Alternatively, the magnetic method using the ENVI Cs Magnetometer  or the ENVI Pro Magnetometer can complement the available geological information. In specific geological conditions, the gravity method using the CG-6 Autograv or CG-5 Autograv Gravity Meter can also be useful.

 

VMS Deposits:

For Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide deposits, the gravity method, using the CG-6 Autograv or CG-5 Autograv Gravity Meter is the best method. The magnetic method using the ENVI Pro Magnetometer can also be used to complement the available geological information.

 
 
Coal Deposits:

For Coal deposits, the Resistivity Imaging method, using the SARIS Resistivity Imaging System can help to delineate the coal seems. If the density contrast is sufficient, the gravity method, using the CG-6 Autograv or  CG-5 Autograv Gravity Meter can also be useful. Conversely, if the susceptibility contrast is sufficient, the magnetic method using the ENVI Pro Magnetometer can also be used.
